Blossoms will run away -
Cakes reign but a day.

Márta Szirmai: Bagira

Here is a song ("Bagheera") from a very rare Hungarian LP from 1964, sung by the soprano Márta Szirmai.
Born in 1939 in Kaposvár, Hungary, Márta Szirmai (sometimes credited as Márta or Marta Szirmay) is an opera and jazz singer and also an actress. She has sung many jazz standards, and namely, in this LP, songs from West Side story and Porgy and Bess. In the song Bagira, Szirmai takes wild accents worthy of Yma Sumac, which shows once more the incredible influence of the Peruvian soprano everywhere in the world.
Enjoy this curious and exotic song, where Hungary meets the Brazilian jungle!
